A Mattel anunciou esta semana uma série de novas Barbies nas linhas Inspiring Women, que traz mulheres que fizeram contribuições históricas, e Sheroes, ícones contemporâneos que quebraram barreiras em seus campos de trabalho.
As novidades reveladas incluem bonecas da aviadora Amelia Earhart, a artista Frida Kahlo e a matemática da NASA, Katherine Johnson. Na linha Sheroes, que já havia lançado a boneca da diretora Ava DuVernay, a Mattel revelou agora um modelo inspirado na diretora de Mulher-Maravilha, Patty Jenkins.
"Mulheres sempre foram capazes de atuar em diferentes papeis e carreiras com a Barbie, e estamos animados em iluminar modelos reais para lembrar as garotas de que elas podem ser o que quiserem", disse a vice-presidente da Barbie, Lisa McKnight.
