Eisner Awards 2008

Os vencedores do Eisner Awards 2008 foram anunciados na noite desta sexta-feira na San Diego Comic-Con. E é a primeira vez que brasileiros recebem o prêmio. Três brasileiros!

Fábio Moon e Gabriel Bá, os gêmeos desenhistas e roteiristas conhecidos por aqui pela série 10 Pãezinhos, ganharam em todas as categorias onde concorriam. Juntos pela antologia 5 (ainda com Vasilis Lolos, Becky Cloonan e outro brasileiro, Rafael Grampá), Moon sozinho pela HQ online Sugarshock! (escrita por Joss Whedon para a Dark Horse Presents) e Bá sozinho pela minissérie The Umbrella Academy (escrita por Gerard Way).

Entre os outros vencedores, os destaques são Y: O Último Homem (encerrada este ano), que levou melhor série e melhor dupla desenhista/arte-finalista (Pia Guerra / José Marzan Jr.); Eric Powell, o criador de The Goon, como melhor escritor/ilustrador de humor e melhor pintor ou artista multimídia (ele já tem três outros troféus); os Pequenos Guerreiros (Mouse Guard), de David Petersen, que levaram melhor publicação para crianças e melhor álbum gráfico - republicação; e James Jean, como melhor capista (Fábulas, entre outas) e melhor design de publicação.

Os brasileiros têm outro motivo para comemorar: boa parte do material premiado está sendo lançada por aqui. Y: O Último Homem foi recentemente retomada pela Pixel Magazine; Pequenos Guerreiros está sendo publicada pela Conrad; as capas de James Jean estão em destaque na Fábulas Pixel; Preto e Branco, de Taiyo Matsumoto, chegou aqui antes dos EUA; a melhor edição individual Justice League of America #11 sai no mês que vem em Liga da Justiça; e a fase premiada de Ed Brubaker em Capitão América, Demolidor e Punho de Ferro é a que está saindo atualmente por aqui.
