Saem os indicados ao Eisner Awards 2010

Asterios Polyp, uma das graphic novels mais comentadas de 2009, e o japonês Naoki Urasawa são os líderes em indicações no 22º Eisner Awards, prêmio máximo das HQs dos EUA - que chega com categorias novas e uma atenção cada vez maior para o quadrinho estrangeiro.

Prova disso é que os álbuns franceses My Mommy is in America and she met Buffalo Bill (de Jean Regnaud e Emile Bravo) e O Fotógrafo (de Emmanuel Guibert, Didier Lefèvre e Frédéric Lemercier - já publicada em parte no Brasil) têm três indicações cada. Além de Urasawa, que tem cinco indicações por seus dois trabalhos que estão saindo nos EUA: Pluto e 20th Century Boys.

Entre as editoras, a mais agraciada com indicações é a DC Comics, com 20. A Fantagraphics ganha força, em segundo lugar, com 17. Contrariando o mercado, que lhe dá preferência, o prêmio, a Marvel tem apenas oito indicações.

Alguns títulos já foram publicados no Brasil ou estão por sair. O Gênesis de Crumb, a saga “Wolverine: O Velho Logan”, A Busca (lá fora lançada como A Family Secret) e Johnny Cash: Uma Biografia (8inverso) também aportaram por aqui em 2009. As edições de Brave & The Bold e Capitão América que concorrem em “Melhor Edição”, bem como a Detective Comics (do indicado J.H. Williams III) e Blackest Night, vêm este ano. Por fim, os álbuns Footnotes in Gaza (Joe Sacco), Stitches (David Small), Fahrenheit 451 (Tim Hamilton) e Blazing Combat (Archie Goodwin) já estão previstos para este ano também no Brasil.

De novas categorias, chama atenção “Melhor adaptação”, que reconhece como o mercado de quadrinhos têm voltado-se para boas adaptações literárias. Os concorrentes são de peso, e incluem o Gênesis de Crumb. Cria-se também a categoria “Melhor escritor/ilustrador - não-ficção”, ressaltando a diferença entre os autores de quadrinhos autobiográficos ou jornalísticos e os demais criadores. A categoria “Melhor edição (ou especial)” volta depois de alguns anos de fora, e “Melhor edição estadunidense de material estrangeiro: Japão”, inaugurada em 2007, agora abre-se para toda a Ásia.

E tem brasileiro de novo concorrendo, para manter a constante desde 2008: Ivan Reis e Oclair Albert, respectivamente desenhista e arte-finalista, dividem com o escritor Geoff Johns a indicação de Blackest Night a melhor minissérie do ano.

Por fim, os indicados já surgem com uma controvérsia: a execrada minissérie Justice League: Cry for Justice aparece nas categorias “Melhor escritor” (James Robinson) e “Melhor pintor” (Mauro Cascioli). A mini recebeu péssimas resenhas lá fora, com um final considerado absurdo. Os fãs se perguntam o que levou os juízes a acrescentá-la à lista.
