A nova leva inclui nomes como David Thewlis (Harry Potter, Fargo), Kirby Howell-Baptiste (The Good Place) e também Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who), que viverá Johanna Constantine no programa, uma antepassada do mago John Constantine. A primeira temporada deve adaptar o primeiro arco dos quadrinhos, intitulado de “Prelúdios e Noturnos”, mas trazendo para os dias atuais. Nesse arco, Sandman, o governante do Sonhar, é aprisionado depois de um ritual que buscava prender a Morte, sua irmã. Ele fica preso por 70 anos, até que finalmente consegue se libertar e começa uma jornada para voltar a reinar sobre o Sonhar e recuperar suas três ferramentas: uma algibeira cheia de areia, um rubi e um elmo. A data de lançamento ainda não foi divulgada.
